Paint Removal & Stripping Services

We offer professional paint stripping for both wood and metal items, including pine, elm, and other softwoods. Whether you're restoring a single piece or working on a larger project, we’re here to help.

We regularly strip:

• Wooden doors – framed plank, ledge & brace, ledge-only, kitchen, bathroom, living room, front doors, and doors with glass panels.
• Pine furniture – chairs, tables, cupboards, chests of drawers, wardrobes, etc.
• Metal items – cast iron fireplaces, guttering, driveway gates, wrought-iron garden furniture, and more.

Important Information:

• Fixed pricing is available for standard stripping work.
• We do not strip:
  • Powder-coated metal
  • Water-based paints
  • Certain lacquered wood finishes
• For oak, we don’t recommend caustic dipping, as it opens the grain. Manual stripping is advised unless you prefer a rougher finish.

A note about glass:

If your item includes glass panels (e.g. glazed doors), please be aware:

• When dipped, the wood absorbs water and can swell slightly.
• If the glass is tightly fitted in its frame, this swelling can apply pressure and cause the glass to crack or break.
• While we take every care, we cannot cover the cost of any breakage that may occur due to this natural effect during the stripping process.
