Mendip Dry Stone Delivered to Frome for Gabion Basket Filling

Another load of our Mendip dry stone has recently made its way over to Frome, where it is being used to fill gabion baskets for a customer’s landscaping project.  For this order, the customer chose our dry stone mix, which includes a mixture of different stone sizes. This works particularly well for gabion basket filling, giving a more natural and varied appearance once packed into the cages. Some pieces also contained visible fossils, and rather than hiding them away, the customer carefully positioned a few on display to add extra character to the finished look.  7  The stone was delivered in tonne bags, making unloading and handling straightforward on site. As this was the customer’s first time using us, it was great to hear how pleased they were with both the stone and the service.  At Somerset Reclamation we normally keep a range of Mendip dry walling stone and mixed sizing available, suitable for traditional walling, landscaping projects, and gabion basket filling. Because the stone comes from the Mendip area, you often find pieces with natural fossils and markings throughout the load, which can really stand out in the finished project
