Claire and I were out on the road delivering Mendip dry stone wall for a late winter project, with the first stop in Westbury. From there, the day turned into a proper sourcing run, heading on to Yeovil and Dorchester.
Along the way we collected a varied mix of reclaimed items, including doors, old water tanks, a Victorian garden roller, and white marble slabs. One standout piece was an old three-plank pitch pine, square-legged country kitchen table. It had clearly spent years in a barn, but the bones are good and it’s now in the queue to be carefully restored.
Days like this are what the job’s really about — getting materials where they’re needed, rescuing useful old pieces, and bringing them back into circulation for their next chapter.
